The Hastings College chapter of Alpha Chi, the all-discipline academic honorary, inducted six new members during a fall semester ceremony.
The purpose of Alpha Chi is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. They accept only students who place in the top 10 percent of their class from all academic disciplines.
Newly inducted members include:
- Ann Bose, an elementary education and special education major from Orleans, Nebraska, participates in women’s basketball and FCA.
- Lexi Benson, a K-12 physical education and secondary education major from Hastings, Nebraska, is a resident assistant who participates in women’s tennis, Student Association and Chi Omega Psi.
- Joel Carter, a business administration major with a government minor from Severance, Colorado, plays tennis and aspires to go to law school after graduation.
- Cooper Ewoldt, a business administration and finance double major, is also minoring in accounting. He is on the football team and is from Grand Island, Nebraska.
- Lydia Robertson, a business administration and accounting double major, is also minoring in psychology. She is from Orchard, Nebraska, and is involved in volleyball, FCA and is a Scott Scholar.
- Jamie Wechsler, a biology major and writing minor, from Tijeras, New Mexico, is involved in the writing club.
