429. That’s how many incoming students Hastings College will welcome as classes start on August 25, 2014, and it’s a record for the 132 year old institution. The previous record, set in a year ago, was 401 students.

Hastings City Council voted 7-0 to close 9th Street between Elm Avenue and Ash Avenue, effective June 1, 2015. Following the closure, the College will transform the space into a pedestrian walkway and green space.
