Altman, three-story co-ed residence hall, never has a dull moment. With its friendly and fun residents, this dorm gives you a great opportunity to meet and befriend men and women involved in every campus activity imaginable.
Altman Hall, described by students as the “melting pot” of the campus, includes a kitchen, pool table, and two large lounge areas where students gather and socialize. There's also a sand volleyball court right outside.
All rooms in Altman are 17'1" x 11'2" (191 sq. ft.), plus closet space.
Like all dorms on campus, Altman is air conditioned and includes the free use high efficiency washers and dryers (no hunting for quarters!). You'll also find lounges and common areas with comfy couches and chairs and large-screen TVs for hanging out with friends or a video game. There's wifi throughout, access to kitchen space and if you have pressing issues, there are irons and ironing boards available.
Each room in Altman includes:
- Extra-long twin beds (36 inches by 80 inches); beds can be lofted, bunked or left down
- Two dressers
- Two desk chairs
- Two desks
- Closet space

History with Hastings College:
This is my second year at Hastings College. I love the family atmosphere at Hastings College!
How would you describe your dorm and its residents?
Altman is a very outgoing residence hall. Student have their doors open and are always ready to be social. It doesn’t matter what time of day, you will always find students in the lounge playing games or watching movies.
What is your favorite thing about HC?
The staff is very welcoming, and I love all the events that go on around campus.
What is your favorite thing to do in Hastings?
I really enjoy the Lighting of the Campus held each year around Christmas.
What are your hobbies and interests?
Faith, family, friends. In my spare time I enjoy camping, fishing and art.
What is your favorite movie of all-time?
22 Jump Street
When you have had roommates, what quality or trait did you most appreciate?
They communicated well and were outgoing. They were also willing to compromise.
If you could have any superpower as a residence director, what would it be?
To be invisible. As a RD this would be very helpful when it comes to finding out what goes on in your building!
