Accounting
You’ll find recent Hastings College Accounting graduates building great careers in public accounting as staff accountants, auditors, managers and partners; and in industry serving as cost analysts, computer installation specialists, controllers, internal auditors and financial advisors.

As an Accounting major at Hastings College, you’ll integrate traditional business and accounting knowledge with a broad set of courses across disciplines, equipping you with the tools necessary for today’s changing world. Your advisor will encourage and support you throughout your time at Hastings, helping build a plan to meet the 150 hours of coursework required to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Thanks to our small class sizes (most have fewer than 20 students!), and a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1, you’ll work closely with faculty and your advisor to complete your degree in four years. In fact, most students who graduate from Hastings do so in four years!
Our block-style semester structure means you’ll take just one or two classes at a time — which really lets you focus more intently on each class. It also lets faculty devote more time to every student because they’re only teaching one or two classes in a block!

At Hastings, Accounting majors serve one and sometimes two internships, including one through our exclusive Talent Pool program. Every Accounting major completes a capstone project, using case studies to solve real-world challenges. What does all this mean?
