The Hastings College Brass Day is an opportunity for high school brass players, soloists and brass ensembles as they prepare for their District Music Contests. Participants will join the Cathedral Brass in a mass brass ensemble during their concert that evening.

2025 Brass Day Details

This year’s Brass Day is Monday, April 21, 2025, on the beautiful Hastings College campus! There is no cost to attend Brass Day, and the concert is free and open to the public.

All events are in the Fuhr Hall of Music. 

Parking: Note that parking for Fuhr Hall is by Lynn Farrell Arena (800 E. 12th Street), as the Fuhr lot is closed during construction of a new residence hall. On our campus map, the arena is #27 and Fuhr Hall is #25, with a sidewalk going between the two.

Schedule

12:30 pm – Registration
1:00 pm – Warmup, lecture
2:00 pm – Student solo coaching
3:30 pm – Student brass ensemble coaching
5:00 pm – Concert rehearsal

7:30 pm – Concert featuring Brass Day participants and The Cathedral Brass. The concert is free and open to the public
