Dr. Kittie Grace

Associate Dean of Academic & Student Affairs, Professor of Communication Studies

Office: Hurley-McDonald Hall, Room 230

Dr. Kittie Grace blew into Hastings College from the cold Minnesota north in 2003. Prior to Minnesota she lived in warmer Kansas and windy Wyoming. She is a true liberal arts professor as she serves the school as an Associate Dean, assisting with first-year registration, student travel, college partnerships, and is in charge of the Dean’s List.

Over the last two decades, Dr. Grace has taught more than 15 different communication studies classes for the department, including rhetorical criticism, interpersonal communication, and organizational communication. Students describe her as “a devoted teacher,” “energetic,” and “an advocate for those who have lesser voices.”

Dr. Grace has presented more than 40 papers at multiple national conferences and has nine paper/speech publications. She has been honored twice as the Invited Faculty Lecturer at Hastings College and received the National Communication Association Presidential Citation for Service Award and Vondrak Outstanding Advisor Award.

In her spare time, Dr. Grace enjoys reading, camping with her husband and two daughters, watching soccer, and loves playing her flute for fun.
