Vincent Cook ’80

Vince Cook is the former CFO of ModernHEALTH, an Altamont Capital sponsored specialty pharmacy that was rapidly scaled and profitably grown with an exit to The Kroger Co. in 2016. During Mr. Cook’s tenure he participated in growing the business more than five-fold and oversaw the build of Modern’s financial systems and provided leadership for the Modern IT and related infrastructure build. He also was heavily involved with the buy-side and integration work on four acquisitions and a leader of sell-side efforts in readying ModernHEALTH for the Kroger transaction.

From 2003 to 2012, Mr. Cook was the CFO and Executive Vice President of AccentCare, which operated in 10 states and provided a full spectrum of home health services ranging from non-medical, personal care to skilled nursing, hospice care and rehabilitation. During Mr. Cook’s tenure he participated in growing the business more than five-fold during which time he completed 14 acquisitions, multiple debt and equity financings and recapitalized the business via sale to a private equity investor.

Prior to joining AccentCare, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the West Division of Comsys, a Houston, Texas-based IT staffing and solutions company. Before that, Mr. Cook was President of Houston-based Talent Tree Staffing Services, Inc., a commercial staffing company providing healthcare, IT and commercial staffing services. Mr. Cook was with Talent Tree from 1995 through 1999 as Chief Financial Officer and held other positions within the company from May 1993. Between stints at Talent Tree, Mr. Cook was the Chief Financial Officer for Futurestep, the internet executive search subsidiary of retained search firm Korn/Ferry International, and helped to prepare it for an IPO. He has also held positions as Assistant Controller at Southdown, Inc., a publicly-traded cement and concrete products manufacturing company; Bynum Insurance, Inc.; and WKG Group of Companies.

Mr. Cook holds a BA in Business Administration and Mathematics from Hastings College and a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). He currently serves as a Board Member of the Jessie Rees Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation, and has served on other various faith-based, community and non-profit Boards including the Board of St. Joseph Hospital Foundation in Orange, California.
