Hastings College recognized for strong financial position on College Financial Health show

Hastings College was praised on the College Financial Health show for its impressive financial turnaround and promising outlook. Data and higher education experts, who host the show, highlighted Hastings College on LinkedIn, noting its remarkable journey from financial challenges to a future of stability and opportunity.

They described the college as “a noticeable exception to most colleges we review,” commending its strong financial health.

The hosts noted that Hastings College successfully transitioned from a net income deficit to achieve a 43% growth in operating revenue since 2016, while keeping expense growth under 9% over the same period. “That is certainly not easy. Excellent work,” they said.

Much of this work is noted in an article from HC Today, “Hastings College: Confidence amidst changes,” which hosts of the show highlighted specifically.

According to Hastings College’s CFO Stephanie Ourada, this turnaround reflects the dedication of the entire campus community, board and supporters.

“While exciting projects lie ahead, this reflects on our five-year journey from an untenable situation to a future of stability and opportunity,” she said. “We remain committed to navigating the challenges of higher education, and we’re excited about the future of this incredible college in the heart of Nebraska.”
