Hastings College sponsors ‘What’s Cool in Your School’

Hastings College
is the exclusive sponsor of “What’s Cool in Your School,” a weekly feature highlighting positive and innovative happenings in Central Nebraska schools that airs Sunday nights and Monday mornings on KSNB Local4 News.

“What’s Cool in Your School” celebrates the unique and inspiring stories from classrooms across the region. Each week during the school year, Local4 will showcase a different school, shining a spotlight on creative projects, exceptional students and teachers and exciting educational initiatives.

“As an institution dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in education, we’re thrilled to partner with Local4 on this uplifting series,” said Dr. Annette Vargas, vice president for student access, enrollment and performance at Hastings College. “We believe in the power of recognizing and sharing the incredible work happening in our area schools.”

Community members, parents, students and co-workers are encouraged to submit their own “cool” school stories for consideration. Submissions can be made through the Local4 website at ksnblocal4.com/page/whats-cool-in-your-school.

Featured stories will air during the Sunday 10:00 p.m. newscast and be reshown on Monday’s Local4 Morning News from 6:00-7:00 a.m. The stories are also shared from social media.

“Local4 is always looking to tell stories about students learning and the teachers who guide them.  We’re grateful to Hastings College for partnering with us to make this happen,” said Shannon Booth, vice president and general manager for KSNB Local4.

Stories featured so far cover everything from technology and equipment at Central City High School to West Lawn Elementary staff who bring the fun by wearing costumes to the Friday pick-up line to Walnut Middle School students who gain experience by bringing live morning news to campus.
