
Hastings College students took home seven of the eleven awards at the 2025 Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation/Lincoln Industries Student Art Show last week, including Best of Show going to senior Liam Sites for his blown glass piece, “Fragile.”
In 2D, Brooke Gaughan, a senior art and art education double major from Colorado Springs, Colorado, received first place for an engraving print titled “Ritual.” Sites, an art education major from Erie, Colorado, received honorable mention in 2D for his silkscreen print titled “Foul Beast vs Machine.”
In 3D, Anna Bultman, a senior art and English double major from Waverly, Nebraska, received first place for her ceramic piece titled “70’s Figurine and Outfit.” Renee Williams, a senior art major from Nebraska City, Nebraska, received second place for her OSB wood sculpture titled “Empty Embrace.” Jackson Pedersen, an art and biology double major from Roskilde, Denmark, received third place for her mixed media work titled “Everlost Soulmate.” Shania Santos, a senior psychology major from Marana, Arizona, received honorable mention for her blown glass pieces titled “Cactus Vessels.”
The awards reception for the show was April 17 at the Hillmer Art Gallery on the College of Saint Mary campus. The reception, sponsored by Lincoln Industries, had approximately 100 people attend, including art students and their families, art professors and CINCF college presidents and business directors.
Two outside jurors, Becky Hermann and Jim Butkus, judged the show.
