College ranking season has arrived. Washington Monthly, which places a premium on service learning and community service, ranked Hastings College as 29th among Baccalaureate Colleges, with the College’s community service 18th and its Peace Corps enrollment 23rd among 300 institutions. Furthermore, Hastings College was ranked 28th among 300 Baccalaureate Colleges as a “Biggest Bang for the Buck.”
On September 9, 2014, US News and World Report released its 2015 Best Colleges Rankings. Hastings College is ranked #18 in the Midwest in the Regional Colleges category. Among the criteria bearing the most weight in the publication’s rankings are faculty resources and peer assessments. Faculty resources include data such as small average class sizes and faculty with the highest degree in their field. Peer assessments include data from college administrators and high school guidance counselors.
“These national recognitions, along with our large incoming class and improved retention rates should give us, as a College, strong momentum as we move into our accreditation later this academic year,” said Susan Meeske ’94,Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing. “Faculty and staff as well as our students should be proud of these achievements while continuing to explore ways to improve the Hastings College experience.”
