On home turf, Bronco Forensics qualifies additional events for nationals

During the 2015 Bronco Bash held in Hastings, Nebraska, on February 21-22, the Bronco Forensics team qualified two additional events for nationals. Miranda Klugesherz, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, finished first in After Dinner Speaking on February 22, allowing her to compete in the event at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) in Portland, Oregon, this April. Jess Ayers, a senior from Newcastle, Wyoming, also qualified for nationals by finishing first in Extemporaneous Speaking on February 21.

On both days, the team finished 3rd overall. Full results follow.

On February 27-March1, 2015, the team will compete in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Battle for the Capital.

Ayers: 5th place, Impromptu Speaking; 1st place, Extemporaneous Speaking*

Corbin Henk, a junior from Doniphan, Nebraska: 3rd place, Communication Analysis; 6th place, Duo Interpretation with Burns

Teal Timperley, a junior from Lynch, Nebraska: 2nd place, Dramatic Interpretation; 2nd place, Program of Oral Interpretation

Kate Taylor, a freshman from Alamosa, Colorado: 3rd place, Extemporaneous Speaking – This was her first qualification for finals at the collegiate level.

Micala Burns, a freshman from Bloomington, Minnesota: 4th place, Dramatic Interpretation; 6th place, Duo Interpretation with Henk

Sunday, February 22:

Sierra Walker, a senior from Gering, Nebraska: 5th place, Duo Interpretation with Henk
