Three local congregations are holding a prayer service for the upcoming election in French Memorial Chapel (800 N. Turner Avenue) on Sunday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m. The service is free and open to the public.
Pastors organizing the event, which will consist of prayers, readings, poems and music, include Rev. Shelby Moock, pastor of First Congregational Church; Ben Hanne, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church; and the Very Reverend Katie Hargis, pastor at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Hastings College student Alyssa Baker will also read, while students Dylan Shaw, Landyn Branstiter and Mekenzie Miller, provide music.
Baker is a senior from Bentonville, Arkansas; Shaw is from Colorado Springs, Colorado; Branstiter is from Alliance, Nebraska; and Miller is from Kearney, Nebraska.
