On February 9, 2014, students from ten states competed for Hastings College’s top academic scholarship – the Walter Scott Scholarship. This full-tuition scholarship was awarded to three students: Emma Atuire of Denver, Colo.; Liz Tidwell of Littleton, Colo.; and Zoe Wilhem of Omaha, Neb.
To qualify for what is known as the Crimson Scholars Day competition, students must earn a score of 26 or higher on the ACT, have earned a 3.75 grade point average or higher and be accepted to Hastings College. Students interview with Hastings College faculty and are assessed on both their academic and leadership potential.
The awards below are in addition to the $14,000 Crimson Scholarship these students received based on their academic achievement.
